From NY Times Blog:

Looking for a cheap vacation? Try Atlanta.

The city topped Hotwire’s fifth annual Travel Value Index, which ranks 75 destinations in the United States based on where it says that travelers can find the best value and entertainment options.

“New inventory and the dip in Atlanta’s convention business have created an opportunity for consumers to find amazing deals and discounts this year,” Clem Bason, president of the Hotwire Group, which works with hotels, airlines and car rental companies to fill unsold inventory at discounted prices, said in a press release.

Orlando, Dallas-Fort Worth and Raleigh, N.C., got high marks for great deals on airfare, car rentals and hotels. Los Angeles and Miami made the list for their affordable entertainment.
